چکیده
Objectives: This study describes our experience using PICC in patients submitted to autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) regarding the time of use, withdrawal reasons, and complications.
Methods: A retrospective cohort 143 from 2017 2019, with a inserted before ASCT.
Results: Regarding baseline disease, 104 (73%) had multiple myeloma. The median days use was 15 (1 – 37) per catheter. More than 80% remained place after D+15, 112 (78%) removed at discharge. Only 13 (9%) replacement PICC. rates central line associate bloodstream infection thrombosis were 1.36 events 1,000 days, respectively.
Conclusions: PICCs successfully until discharge, manageable complications. All procedures executed by nurses bedside. We concluded that is safe feasible alternative CVC for
